‘The Golden Bachelor’ Stars Get Candid About Dating After 60: ‘I Haven’t Lost My Drive’

The ladies of The Golden Bachelor are talking about their experience with dating, sex and “f**k boys” after 60.

Speaking on the March 28 episode of iHeartRadio’s I Do, Part 2 podcast, Kathy Swarts and Joan Vassos, who both appeared on ABC’s older-leaning The Golden Bachelor, spoke very candidly about their sex lives in their 60s.

“I haven’t lost my sex drive,” Swarts, 72, explained during the podcast, per Us Weekly. “You haven’t lost yours.

“Absolutely not. … I think it’s a fact that a lot of people lose their sex drive to the person they’re married to because they become too involved in their lives and it just becomes less of a priority. And then once that kind of happens, then it’s hard to get it back,” Vassos, 63, replied.

However, despite the duo still pursuing intimacy in their older age, they explained that not all their friends feel the same way.

“I have a lot of female friends who, after they had their children, have said to me, ‘Kath, you’re going to date and sleep with guys?’” Swarts explained. “I was like, ‘Well, if I find a guy I’m interested in, I’m not just going to hang a shingle out.’ And they said, ‘I could care less about sex. I don’t care if I ever have sex again. I have my kids, I have my tennis team. I don’t care.’ I almost feel like I’m in the minority.”

Vassos, who was single after her time on The Golden Bachelor and was the lead The Golden Bachelorette in 2024, also talked about the difficulties of finding a suitable partner at 63, noting that even older women have to deal with “f**k boys.”

“The most recent experience happened like two weeks ago with, like, a 30-year-old hitting on me and he wanted to come up to my hotel room,” she said. “I was like, ‘This is not happening.’”

It likely helped her decline the offer, considering that she’s currently engaged to her Golden Bachelorette winner, Chock Chapple.

Swarts agreed with her friend, revealing that she too has been propositioned just for sex and, while she says that’s not her thing, she appreciates people being upfront about their intentions.
