Thousands of Walmart High Chairs Recalled Due to Fall Hazard
Five children have already been injured with bumps and bruises after falling out.
Scary news for anyone with a baby or a toddler: Thousands of high chairs have been recalled because of a fall hazard. Even more frightening: There have already been 38 reports about the chairs’ problems, and five children have reportedly been injured, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Sold exclusively at Walmart stores nationwide from October 2016 through December 2017, these Graco Table2Table 6-in-1 Highchairs have a serious issue with the back legs. They can pivot out of position, making the high chair that’s supposed to be protecting your child or grandchild incredibly unstable. If your kid or grandkid happens to be sitting in it when this happens, he or she can take an unexpected, terrible spill. Graco has already heard five reports of kids getting bumps and bruises after their chairs fell over while they were in inside. What a nightmare that must have been for those poor kids — especially when they were probably in the middle of enjoying a meal or snack.
Considering this recall affects about 36,000 high chairs, it’s worth double-checking your family’s high chair if you have one in your home, or warning other people who might have high chairs in their houses. The model number is 1969721, and this high chair holds a white cushion with gold and gray polka dots. It also has the ability to convert to six different modes, including a traditional highchair, a booster seat, and toddler chair and table. The model number can be found on a label on the underside of the toddler seat and on a label on the back of the booster seat.
