Since Prince George’s arrival 11 years ago, Prince William and Princess Kate have made it a tradition to share a new birthday photograph of each of their children yearly. Sharing these portraits is their way of acknowledging everyone who has reached out with well wishes and joined in the celebrations.

And Princess Charlotte’s latest image is one you don’t want to miss. The young royal is in a grassy area, dressed in a camouflage jacket and carrying a heavy-duty hiking backpack. She’s all smiles, and the duchess quickly snapped the photo on her iPhone. “Happy 10th Birthday Princess Charlotte! ❤,” the caption read on Instagram. 

Just a couple of weeks before Charlotte’s birthday, the royals celebrated Prince Louis’ birthday on April 23, when the baby of the family turned 7. In a fun twist, they shared some behind-the-scenes moments of Louis goofing off and having fun, rather than just the photo.

What Charlotte has been up to in the past year

While 10 is sure to be fun, Charlotte was a busy bee at 9 and made various public appearances over the past year. Her most memorable moments include attending the Wimbledon final with Kate, celebrating Christmas at the Sandringham Estate with her family and participating in other royal events such as parades and volunteer opportunities. 

Another highlight for Charlotte was going to one of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour shows. She, Prince William and Prince George were at night one of Swift’s shows at Wembley Stadium, and they all had a fantastic time. Charlotte even took two selfies with Swift, one on the royal’s Instagram and the other on Swift’s page. 

Charlotte also hasn’t shirked her older sister duties. As the middle child, she gets guidance from George but also gets to help Louis out, especially in new situations. Last June, she corrected Louis during Trooping the Colour on how to hold his arms during the National Anthem. She also told him to “stop” when he was dancing and being silly during King Charles’ birthday celebration that same month.
