The two best friends, and their neighbor Penny (Kaley Cuoco), share some hysterical moments and quotes throughout the show’s 12 seasons, but a few stick out above the others. “Bazinga!” — Sheldon Cooper

When you think of Sheldon, the phrase, ‘Bazinga!’ probably pops into your mind. But do you know where the origin of the phrase comes from? Show writer Stephen Engel used the phrase after pulling a prank on the show’s co-creator, Bill Prady, and that it later found its way onto the show.

“I remember it wasn’t in a script,” Parsons explained. “It was one of those moments where we’d work on a scene and then you’d go and take notes from the producers and writers. If I’m correct, it was inserted right before a taping, basically. It was, like, ‘That would work in here. What if he said ‘bazinga’ after that?’”

While the phrase has been around for longer than the series, it is now often associated with The Big Bang Theory and is always linked to Sheldon Cooper.

It wouldn’t be a Big Bang wedding without some sort of reference to science, but the way Leonard incorporates it in his vows to Penny was very moving. He explains that he believes his love with Penny was meant to be and that it has been a plan all along for them to end up together. How sweet!

A Penny classic, this line is often said whenever the character is shocked about something. There are quite a few moments that she uses this line and it’s certainly one of the most memorable quotes from The Big Bang Theory.

Many often assumed that Sheldon was “crazy,” considering his interesting behavior, but he for one knows it’s not true. In one instance, after their apartment was robbed, Sheldon suggests it could’ve been an inside job, but when a cop suggests Sheldon should be put in psychiatric hold, he throws out this hilarious line.

When Penny tries to explain that Leonard is the only thing that makes her happy, she ends up comparing him to a bran muffin, which upsets Leonard. He explained that he preferred to be compared to a strawberry Pop-Tart. She finally says that she wants to marry Leonard, the “stupid Pop-Tart.”
