Franzese, 48 — who played Damian Leigh in the hit 2004 film — showed off his impressive 135-pound weight loss with a rare shirtless photo on September 24.
“Three years. Down 135lbs. No booze, no sugar, workout 4 times a week (or more) now counting macros,” he captioned the post shared to Threads.
Fans flooded the comments section of his post with praise for his hard work.
“The progress is impressive😘,” one follower wrote.
“Handsome af both ways but I’m so glad you’re feeling yourself and this epic transformation!” another added.
“You may be a skinny legend now, but to us you’ll forever and always be too gay to function. ❤️,” a third commented, referring to the iconic line delivered by Janis Ian (played by Lizzy Caplan) to Damian in Mean Girls.
In 2025, Franzese opened up about the health scare that kickstarted his weight loss journey.

“Two years sober from alcohol today ✌🏽 Not because I had a wild problem, unless you count ordering bottomless brunch as a personality trait, but because I had a health scare that made me rethink everything,” he shared via Instagram in June 2025. “Since then, I’ve cut almost all sugar, reversed my pre diabetes, and dropped 120 lbs (and a few bad habits along the way). It turns out that feeling good is addictive too.”
He later told TMZ that he avoided using Ozempic to drop the weight, claiming it “depletes your muscles,” before adding: “Just trying to stay healthy.”
