When it comes to vocals, Heart delivers. Led by sisters Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson, this famed rock group has sold millions of records and have put out hit after hit for decades. Two women at the heart of a rock group wasn’t the norm at the time of the group’s rise to fame, but their talent was no match for the naysayers and Heart has enjoyed a long and successful career. Here, take a look at our 10 favorite Heart songs from over the years.

10 best Heart songs, ranked

10. “Dreamboat Annie” (1975)

The title track off their 1975 album, “Dreamboat Annie,” is a classic. Definitely more stripped down compared to some of their heavier rock tracks, this song still holds its own amongst the rest of the songs on this album.

“Warm wind caress her, her lover it seems/Oh Annie, dreamboat Annie/Ship of dreams/Oh Annie, dreamboat Annie/Little ship of dreams.”

9. “Bebe Le Strange” (1980)

“Bebe Le Strange” took inspiration from a fan letter the group had received, in which the person expressed their admiration for the group but felt their real names needed a bit of jazzing up. The name “Bebe Le Strange” was inspired by a dive called Jacques Le Strange — and the rest is history.

8. “Heartless” (1977)

Heart captures the brutality of love on “Heartless,” taking inspiration from the way the guys in their band would jump to and from female companion while on the road, leaving a trail of broken hearts along the way.

7. “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You” (1990)

The lyrics of “All I Wanna Do Is Make Love to You” paint a pretty unique picture: The woman whose point of view the song is sung from shares a passionate night with a man she offered a ride to on the side of the road. She becomes pregnant, and when they meet again and he sees the state she’s in, she explains that she’s married, but her husband couldn’t give her a child.

6. “What About Love?” (1985)

Heart’s version of “What About Love?,” originally recorded by the band Toronto, is a perfect showcase of the impressive vocals that define this epic group.

5. “These Dreams” (1985)

Different from the sound people had come to know them for, “These Dreams” ended up being the band’s first number one single.

4. “Magic Man” (1975) Heart songs

“Magic Man” describes the spell of a lover, describing a familiar story of a young girl whisked away by a man, taken by feelings of love. It’s a story that was very real for Heart’s Ann Wilson, when she left home to follow a guy.

The song is a story about leaving home,” Wilson told Rolling Stone. “Lines like ‘Come on home, girl, Mama cried on the phone,’ that was real. We used to have these long conversations where she would go, ‘You get back here! You don’t know what you’re doing.’ I can remember how upset she was. She had no idea about the reality in the seventies of girls and boys and free love and whatever, and she just expected the worst.”

3. “Crazy On You” (1975) Heart songs

Released in the 70s, “Crazy On You” is a song about forgetting the chaos of the world around you for the comfort of your lover.

2. “Alone” (1987) Heart songs

If the incredible harmonies on this song weren’t enough to put this song toward the top of the list, then the passion that this song evokes should be. It’s a certified 80s classic for a reason!

1. “Barracuda” (1977) Heart songs

You can hear the vengeful power in this song as soon as you hear the first chords, so it comes as no surprise that this 1977 hit came as a result of an insult thrown Ann’s way by someone making an inappropriate insinuation about the relationship between she and her sister.
