Dennis Quaid Lists Los Angeles Home for Nearly $5.2 Million After Saying Area Is ‘Going Downhill’

It seems as though Dennis Quaid is officially done with California living.

First For Women can confirm that the Rookie actor, 72, listed his home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles for nearly $5.2 million.

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Quaid explained why he left L.A. for Nashville, Tennessee, where he’s lived with wife Lauren Savoie since 2020.

“It used to be such a great town and the ’90s was nice,” he said at the CMA Fest held earlier this month in Nashville. “And then it’s been kind of going downhill and I feel like people pay these taxes for no services is what it gets down to.”

“And then fire happens and it kind of exposes all those things that go on that should be taken care of,” Quaid continued of the California wildfires that wreaked havoc and destruction on the area. “People are angry and half angry, and they’re half kind of feel like giving up, to tell you the truth.”

“I’m just one of thousands who have left, and I don’t know, I hope the town comes back,” he said. “I really do. It used to be such a fantastic town. It was. It was a great community, too. And something’s happened. People need to be inspired there.”

His Brentwood home, which he purchased in October 2017 for $3.9 million, includes five bedrooms and six bathrooms.

The 4,115-square-foot property — located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac street — features a private courtyard that leads to an entryway with plenty of natural light and a formal living room with French doors, according to a listing.

The house also includes a private yard, patios, lawn, pool, built-in BBQ and terraced gardens. On the main level, there is a spacious guest room that opens to the garden. Other features include a laundry room and a private garage.

Quaid appears to be enjoying the music scene where he lives now in Nashville. “I grew up on country music, really, with Hank Williams. And my dad would listen to it in the car, the truck on his way to work, because it appealed to working people back then. And it was outside of rock and roll, but it influenced everything,” the Parent Trap actor told Fox. “I can’t think of a genre that’s bigger.”
