This year has been tough for many of us, and a relative not seeing Connie Britton on our TV and movie screens certainly doesn’t help! We know a lot of you are wondering what Connie Britton is doing today, and we’re happy to tell you she’ll be on-screen quite a bit in the new year.

For one, Connie will star in the upcoming FOX procedural 9-1-1, produced by her old American Horror Story bosses, Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuk. She’ll play dispatcher Abby Clark opposite fellow American Horror Story alum Angela Bassett and Parenthood’s Peter Krause. The drama premieres on Wednesday, January 3, at 9 p.m. EST.

We’ll also catch this 50-year-old on Netflix next year in the dramedy film Land of Steady Habits. She’ll play a divorcee who bonds with the lead character, played by Ben Mendelsohn, as he navigates a midlife crisis. (Coincidentally, Ben starred on the Netflix drama Bloodline with Kyle Chandler, Connie’s TV husband in Friday Night Lights.)

Still, neither of those roles will have her belting out country hits like she did as Rayna James on Nashville, the drama series she left this year, shortly after it switched from ABC to CMT. (“It was something that had been percolating over time, and there were lots of different reasons behind it,” she said of her decision in a TVLine interview at the time.)

And we’ve seen this four-time Emmy nominee here and there since she sang her last note on Nashville. She recurred as Ally in the Showtime comedy SMILF, for example, and she played real-life Child Study Association director Josette Frank in the film Professor Marston and the Wonder Women. (Josette most certainly did not approve of the Wonder Woman comic.)

When she’s not on set, Connie is serving as a United Nations Development Programme Goodwill Ambassador, as she has since 2014, focusing on poverty and women’s empowerment. And when she’s not working, she’s raising her son Yoby, whom she adopted from Ethiopia in 2011.

Yeah, Connie is a busy woman! Don’t worry, though: She’s still game for a Friday Night Lights reunion. “My feeling is, listen, if [Kyle] wants to do a reunion… I love Kyle, I love the show,” she told Today in June. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose?
