Christie Brinkley looks as stunning as ever in her new campaign for Black Velvet Canadian Whisky.
The 72-year-old supermodel has teamed up with the brand once again, reimagining the photos she posed for in 1978, nearly five decades ago.
In an interview with People on Friday, October 23, Brinkley called the concept “such a good idea.” Photos shared by the outlet showed side-by-side comparisons of Brinkley’s original shots and their reimagined versions.
“We did a slightly different hairdo because the old one sort of looked like a flattened beret or something,” Brinkley explained. “But that was a really popular hairdo at the time. So we just gave it a little more of an update.”
Brinkley admitted that seeing the new images was “really emotional,” explaining that she could still recognize the 20-something woman she was back then. However, the only difference now is that she exudes more “confidence and elegance” that comes with age.
“It’s proof that some things get better with age, whiskey and models,” she added.

Brinkley said the fashion industry’s growing inclusivity and broader definition of beauty helped make the ad possible, calling the shift one of its most positive changes.
“I have to say, to be on a set at 72 and be told, ‘You look beautiful,’ is something that wouldn’t have happened 50 years ago,” she continued.
“And so I think that we are expanding our image of beauty in every area, and I think that’s beautiful.”
As First for Women reported on June 29, Brinkley opened up about the positive side of aging, saying it had improved her life.
“I think that with age you get … freer,” she explained, according to a June 29 report in People. “You do what you wanna do when you wanna do it. I think that there’s a freedom that comes with age that’s quite wonderful. You don’t really care what anybody thinks about your outfit anymore.”
