Chrissy Teigen Is Still Getting Criticized for IVF. But Her Comebacks Keep Getting Better
Model Chrissy Teigen has been refreshingly open about her experience with IVF treatment. Unfortunately, some are not so welcoming.
UPDATE (6/23) — We can hardly believe it, but Chrissy Teigen is still getting criticized for using IVF treatment, even this long after the birth of her first baby Luna in 2016.
It all started with a joke the model made on Twitter about an embryo she had in freezer storage. She posted a screenshot of an email about an outstanding balance on the storage cost for the embryo, and joked, “How’s my embryo gonna be in debt before it’s even born?”
Some Twitter users thought this was a subtle way of her announcing a second pregnancy, which she quickly shut down. But then, one user decided to explain the reproductive process to her and shame her for not conceiving “naturally.”
As always, with Chrissy, her response really says it all.

The celeb mom has no qualms about discussing her difficulty conceiving a baby naturally with her husband since 2013, singer John Legend, with whom she’s been in a relationship with for 10 years.
Unfortunately, some strangers from the outside looking in do seem to have a problem with what she did to have her first child, and what she might plan to do to have her second.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BKbvd9aAMCv/It all started at an awards show, when Teigen revealed to reporters that the next child she would have with Legend would be a boy. After all, a male embryo is the one they have left from doing IVF.
So a woman on Twitter took the time out of her day to ask Teigen, “Did you give it a minute to try naturally or are you avoiding ‘the act?'”
Needless to say, Teigen didn’t take this comment lying down. And her fiery response is really one for the books.

All the way back in 2015, Teigen had made a public request to people not to bug their friends about when they’re going to have a child, because there may be some fertility issues that the couple is not ready to discuss just yet.
“It’s a sweet question,” she said. “It comes from a good place but sometimes you never know what the person is going through. You’re like, ‘I’m trying.’ What I really want to say is, ‘I’m trying and I can’t.’ I wanted to talk about it for so long, it just didn’t feel right to tweet like, ‘Ugh, doing my IVF shots again.'”
