The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives changed nearly every aspect of Conner Leavitt‘s life, including what his day-to-day role looks like at home.

Before the hit Hulu series, Conner, 32, worked a traditional job while his wife, Whitney Leavitt, stayed at home with their children and created content for social media. As the couple became a fan favorite on SLOMW, new opportunities followed, and their family dynamic shifted.

“We kind of became somewhat public figures and opportunities kind of sprung from that, which completely changed our lives,” Conner exclusively tells First for Women. “I no longer work a nine-to-five.”

Now, Conner spends his day as a stay-at-home dad to his and Whitney’s three children — daughter Sedona, 6, and sons Liam, 4, and Billy, 1 — and his mornings begin often just as the sun starts coming up.

“Our kids are early risers. They wake up at like 6 a.m. every morning,” he says, adding that he and the former Dancing with the Stars contestant make a point to get up even earlier. “Something Whitney and I both try and do is wake up before our children. We just feel like it’s a better way to start the day.”

“So we try and wake up between 5 and 5:30,” Conner continues. “I get a lot of stuff ready. My wife’s also right there beside me helping me.”

Once the kids are awake, it’s time for breakfast before getting everyone dressed and heading outside.

“We’ll go on a morning walk and we’ll walk around the neighborhood,” he explains. “We finish our morning walk and then we’ll usually ride bikes or scooters in our driveway or in the backyard.”

Of course, being home with three young children means Conner spends plenty of time cleaning up after them, particularly Liam, who he describes as the biggest “tornado” in the house.

“Nothing is off limits in his mind,” the reality star jokes. “Every drawer is begging to be opened. Every cup is begging to be filled to the brim. He tracks in mud and dirt and brings in animals from outside. It’s nonstop chaos with him, but it is quite endearing.”

The everyday chaos made Conner’s new partnership with Shark AquaReach a no-brainer. He says the wet-dry vacuum has been especially helpful when dealing with the spills that inevitably come with raising little ones.

“The amount of times the milk gets spilled or juice gets spilled or a glass falls off the counter, it cleans up wet messes like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” Conner says.

However, the biggest lesson he’s learned about keeping the house under control is surprisingly simple.

“Clean as you go,” he says. “When you see a mess, do it. Instead of putting a dish in the sink, rinse it, put it in the dishwasher. You see if there’s something that needs to be wiped, wipe it right then and there.”

Conner adds that he used to wait until the end of the day to clean, and the task easily took up an hour of his time.

“But if you just clean up as you see messes,” he shares, “it just makes your life so much easier and the house just feels cleaner throughout the day too.”
