Using store-bought bagels makes prep so easy

Bagel lovers, prepare to be amazed! If you think a regular bagel with butter is the ultimate breakfast, wait until you try these garlic cream cheese stuffed bagels. I stumbled upon this mouthwatering recipe making waves on TikTok and immediately wanted to try it. Imagine a warm, golden bagel coated in a garlicky sauce and filled with pockets of cream cheese — amazing, right? They’re booming in popularity in Los Angeles, but you don’t have to live there to enjoy one. These stuffed bagels are not only delicious but also incredibly easy to bake in 30 minutes. Here’s how to make garlic cream cheese stuffed bagels.

What are garlic cream cheese stuffed bagels?

Garlic cream cheese stuffed bagels have taken social media by storm, becoming a breakfast sensation on the sunny West Coast. These bagels are not your typical morning fare; they’re filled with rich cream cheese that oozes out in every bite. After slicing and piping cream cheese into each cut, the bagel gets coated in a garlicky, buttery parmesan sauce before baking until golden. Watch the TikTok below to see the results:

Tips for the best garlic cream cheese stuffed bagel

This bagel has become my new favorite breakfast to make on the weekends. Follow these helpful tips below to recreate this

1. Cutting the bagels

Cut thin slices that divide the bagel into 6-8 even sections. But don’t slice all the way through; you want just enough space without separating the bagel. (Learn how to cut your bagels into thirds!)

2. Make your own DIY piping bag

If you don’t own a piping bag, no problem. Simply fill a resealable plastic bag with the cream cheese, then snip off a small corner.

3. Add *this* to your cream cheese filling

For a smoother filling, consider mixing ¼ cup heavy cream into the cream cheese. This makes it richer and less dense to pipe out.

I followed @kittys_kitchen’s video tutorial above, but you can also use an oven if you don’t have an air fryer. For extra garlic flavor, feel free to add some minced garlic into the cream cheese filling.

Ingredients:

  • Store-bought bagels of your choice
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • ½ cup butter, melted
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbs. dried parsley
  • Parmesan, grated

Directions:

  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings
  1. Firstly, preheat the oven to 350°F or the air fryer to 400°F. Then, slice your bagels into 6-8 even sections, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  2. Combine the cream cheese and salt in a bowl, whisk until smooth, then place in your DIY piping bag. Pipe each cut with the filling.
  3. Mix the melted, butter, garlic, parsley and parmesan in a bowl. Then, dip each bagel into the sauce before placing on a lined baking tray. Add more sauce or grated parmesan on top, if desired.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes (9 minutes in the air fryer) or until golden brown, then let cool before serving.

Storage instructions

These garlic cream cheese stuffed bagels are best enjoyed fresh. But if you have leftovers, you can store them in an airtight container in the fridge for 2-3 days. You can also freeze them, but do so before baking.
