19-year-old Mamie Laverock, star of Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart, made headlines in May after a life-threatening fall off a five-story balcony. Fans of the young soap opera star have remained concerned about her condition, as she was put on life support and underwent surgery.

What happened to Mamie Laverock?

Laverock, who portrays Rosaleen Sullivan on the Hallmark series, was reportedly hospitalized after suffering from an undisclosed medical emergency earlier in the month. Her mother, Nicole Compton, traveled to Winnipeg, Canada, on May 11 to assist her daughter. According to a GoFundMe page that was created by a family friend to help with medical costs, “Nicole was able to get there in time to save her life.”

After spending nearly two weeks in intensive treatment, the actress was “escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital” and “taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories,” her family said on the fundraising page.

The GoFundMe page was initially created to help support Laverock after her May 11 medical emergency and is being run and updated by her parents, Rob and Nicole Compton. After her fall, her parents shared that “she sustained life threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support.”

As of May 30, her parents shared on the fundraiser page, “Mamie is out of her big surgeries and the doctors [say] she is doing well. It’s impossible for us to be happier. Thank you all for your support.”
