This Piano-Playing Cat is Everything We Need to Beat the Holiday Blues
His collaboration with a guitarist is really impressive.
Struggling to feel the holiday joy? We can’t say we blame you. In fact, we’re feeling quite the same. Things are looking a little different this year as we’re observing safety measures amid the coronavirus crisis. Luckily, however, the internet has our backs and has come through again with some spirit-lifting cat content you sure don’t want to miss.
Barney the cat, who belongs to Tik Tok user @mars.gilmanov, has been making use of his free time during the pandemic by learning to play the piano. Barney has stunned the internet with his talents and went viral back in June, when his owner posted a video of him playing the piano and captioned it, “It was the second month of training.” In the background, you can hear Barney’s owner encouraging him, whispering “You, play.”
Most recently, Barney dazzled us again with a piano solo. The video, titled “new work from Barney,” has been viewed over 270,000 times. As he pushes the keys, Barney looks stoically at the camera, clearly very focused on putting on a show.

And Barneys skills have certainly not gone unnoticed in the world of musicians. On December 5, TikTok user @Akizguitar (also called AG) posted a duet of himself playing the guitar in a split-screen with along with Barney’s December 3 song. Check out the jam session below!

The next day, @Akizguitar posted yet another duet video between himself and Barney. Clearly, the two have great musical chemistry.

Folks on Twitter this week have recognized the sheer awesomeness of this duo, and thanks to user @gallowboob, the pair has gone viral with his post getting 2.4 million views. “Someone did a collab tiktok with a cat and it’s perfect,” he posted.
We can definitely see how this animal-human pair have managed to steal hearts all over the world. This adorable, and quite impressive, collab was everything we needed to help us survive the rest of 2020.
