Minnie Driver is opening up about the unique living arrangement she shares with fiancé Addison O’Dea.
The Emily in Paris star, 56, recently revealed that she and the filmmaker, 46, have spent most of their seven-year relationship living in different places. While it may seem unusual, Driver says the setup has actually been “freeing.”
On Wednesday, March 11, while speaking on The Spirit Daughter podcast, Driver explained that O’Dea has helped her embrace a lifestyle that doesn’t follow traditional relationship rules.
“I found my guy, my love, Addison,” Driver said. “He’s as unconventional [as I am]. And that’s saying that we define what that is. And that has been so freeing to be with someone for whom the weird idiosyncrasies were not a problem at all, but rather to be embraced and supported.”

Driver said the couple is often traveling or working in different locations, which means they rarely share the same home for long. Instead of seeing the distance as a problem, she believes it allows their relationship to feel more natural.
“We are constantly in different places,” Driver said. “And he has coached me in how it is OK.”
The actress added that raising her son Henry, 17, as a single mother for many years also shaped how she approaches relationships.
Driver and O’Dea began dating in 2019 and got engaged later that same year.
