Jennifer Lopez is embracing this current chapter in her life.
On Thursday, March 5, the singer, 56, spoke to Entertainment Tonight ahead of the last leg of her Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, and explained that she’s never been more content.
“I call it my happy era because for the first time in my life, I feel very free. I feel very joyful,” she gushed. “I’m very aware of things that I’ve learned along the way. I’m very grateful.”
“I just wake up every day with a smile on my face,” she continued. “It’s a different life now than it was a few years ago.”

The “Let’s Get Loud” hitmaker’s last few years have been filled with ups and downs in her personal life, as she tied the knot withBen Affleck in 2022 and split from him in 2024. Before that, Lopez — who shares twins, Emme and Max, 18, with third husband Marc Anthony — got engaged to Alex Rodriguez in 2019, but the pair called it quits in 2021.
However, in a September interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Lopez called her breakup with Affleck, 53, “the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“It helped me grow in a way that I needed to grow, become more self-aware,” she explained. “I am a different person now than I was last year, a year and a half ago.”

Additionally, the Monster in Law actress noted that she doesn’t put as much “pressure” on herself now.
“I realized that the joy is in living and these moments, and really embracing life and everything that it brings to you for the lessons that it brings and then for all the triumphs that it brings,” she remarked in the CBS Sunday Morning interview. “And the hard times are the lessons, and you have to understand that. You have to understand that. And once you do, everything just becomes a little bit lighter, and you can really, really fly. And I feel like if that hadn’t happened, I wouldn’t understand that.”
