‘Full House’ Alum Dave Coulier Addresses Concerns Over Weight Loss and Voice Changes Amid Cancer Battle

Cancer has taken a visible toll on Dave Coulier.

The Full House alum, 66, went straight to his fans Thursday, May 7, posting a video on Instagram to address questions about his appearance.

“I haven’t posted in quite a while,” Coulier said in the video. “The last time I did, some of you said I looked differently and I sound differently. I do.”

“What you are seeing is the side effect of the extensive radiation that I went through for carcinoma in my throat,” he said, “and I haven’t been able to eat solid food in months.”

In Thursday’s video, he also revealed that he dropped 45 pounds during his most recent round of radiation.

“[The weight loss is] what you are seeing,” he said in the video. “And it’s affected my ability to speak. Some of you said that I sound differently. So yeah, you’re right on with what you’re seeing and what you’re hearing.”

Coulier also shared a positive update that his hair has finally started growing back after losing it during chemotherapy, and his latest medical reports were encouraging.

“We got our PET scans back and the prognosis looks good for both the carcinoma in my throat and the lymphoma,” Coulier said. “So, we’re very pleased with all of that … I wish good health to all of you!”

Coulier’s cancer journey began in November 2024, when he publicly revealed a diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in a statement published by People. He completed several rounds of chemotherapy and was declared cancer-free by March 2025, the outlet reported.

Sadly, the relief did not last long. Last December, Coulier announced during his appearance on the Today show that he had HPV-related oropharyngeal tongue cancer, an entirely separate diagnosis with no connection to his lymphoma. The Family Holiday star faced 35 rounds of radiation to address it.

Coulier appeared on Good Morning America in February, confirming he was in remission from both cancers following his radiation treatments.

“It’s been a roller-coaster ride for sure,” he told GMA. “I’m in remission with both cancers. And what a journey this has been.”

Throughout his brave cancer journey, Coulier has had the support of his wife, Melissa Bring, whom he married in 2014.

Coulier also has a son, Luc, from his previous marriage to Jayne Modean. The couple was married from 1990 to 1992.
