Ed Sheeran is sharing an emotional update about his wife Cherry Seaborn’s health after her frightening cancer diagnosis.
During a Tuesday, March 10 episode of podcast Friends Keep Secrets, the singer, 35, reflected on the moment he learned that Seaborn, 33, was battling the illness — calling it one of the hardest days of his life.
“Cherry rang me up and said she had cancer,” Sheeran recalled. “That was probably the worst day.”
The diagnosis came during an already painful time for the musician. That same week, his close friend and collaborator Jamal Edwards died suddenly from cardiac arrhythmia.
Fortunately, Sheeran says Seaborn is now doing well nearly four years after her diagnosis.
“She’s fine,” he shared. “She had the operation — she was pregnant at the time — which made everything more complicated.”

After giving birth to the couple’s second child, Seaborn underwent surgery to remove the tumor and has since recovered.
The couple, who married in 2019, share two daughters — Lyra, 5, and Jupiter, 3 — and Sheeran says fatherhood has been the greatest joy of his life.
While the health scare was terrifying, the singer says his wedding day to Seaborn remains the happiest moment he’s experienced.
