‘DWTS’ Alum Joe Amabile Shaves Head Before Brain Surgery, Jokes He’s Giving Doctors ‘Easy Access’

Joe Amabile is finding a way to face a scary moment with a little humor and a lot of support from his family, friends, and fans.

The Bachelorette fan favorite showed off a brand-new buzz cut just days after revealing on social media he’d been diagnosed with an early-stage brain tumor. “In two weeks I’ll be undergoing a craniotomy to have it removed – yeah brain surgery,” Amabile, 40, wrote in the caption of the Monday, July 13 post. “I’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends.”

A few days later, Amabile, who also competed on season 27 of Dancing with the Stars and returned as a Bachelor in Paradise favorite, shared a video to Instagram of himself removing his sunglasses to reveal the fresh haircut before walking away with a smile. “Might as well give them easy access,” he captioned the post on Friday, July 17.

The comment section quickly filled with encouragement and plenty praised the new look outright, with one fan writing, “It’s giving fight club,” and another adding, “Looks so good!! You’re lucky you have a head for it!”
