Christina Applegate was met with some much-needed humor from her daughter, Sadie Grace LeNoble, following the actress’ return home from a nearly four-month hospital stay.
In an Instagram post shared on Monday, September 14, Applegate showed off a garland her 15-year-old daughter had arranged to welcome her home following her recent health struggles.
“You’re home. Happy day, ho,” the message read.
Applegate, 54, clearly appreciated Sadie’s sense of humor, writing alongside the photo, “[I] meant to post this a while ago. My kid is so my kid hahaha.”

The sweet moment comes after TMZ reported on August 3 that Applegate had returned home following a nearly four-month stay at a Los Angeles hospital.
Sources with direct knowledge told the outlet the actress had been hospitalized since late March and was recently discharged, while another source close to Applegate said she was home and “doing well.”
Applegate has been living with multiple sclerosis, a disease that affects the central nervous system, since revealing her diagnosis in 2021. However, the exact reason for her lengthy hospitalization has not been publicly confirmed.
After TMZ first reported her hospitalization in April, Applegate’s representative declined to reveal whether she was still in the hospital or what treatment she was receiving.
“She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast,” her rep said at the time.
Applegate addressed the concern herself in an Instagram post on April 20, thanking fans for their support.
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” she wrote alongside a photo featuring her memoir, You With the Sad Eyes, and a coffee mug.
“Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick, and I’m getting stronger and better every day,” she continued. “I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”
Applegate has been candid about the physical toll MS has taken on her body since her diagnosis.
In her memoir, which was released in March, the former Dead to Me star revealed that she has lost significant muscle mass.
“It’s dangerous to be walking around with zero muscles on my body: it means my bones aren’t protected if I fall, and it scares me,” she wrote. “But there’s still that little voice in my head saying, ‘You’re really skinny. You have the legs you always wanted. Good for you.'”
“This is the sickness,” she added. “But she’s not going to win.”
