Cheryl Ladd recently revealed she survived breast cancer, like her two Charlie’s Angels costars Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith did.

On Monday, April 6, Ladd, 74, reunited with Jackson, 77, and Smith, 80, at PaleyFest LA to celebrate the iconic series’ 50th anniversary. The trio participated in a panel at the event, and Ladd got candid about her cancer battle, including losing her hair.

“Mine was an aggressive form,” she remarked, according to USA Today. “I had wonderful doctors. But I was bald for quite a while. It was a humbling experience.”

Ladd credited her husband Brian Russell — whom she wed in 1981 — for supporting her throughout her journey.

“I have a wonderful husband. All through it, he was there for me at every turn, and that makes a difference,” Ladd admitted. “Eventually, I started to get little sprouts of hair. It was like, ‘Oh, I’m getting hair!’ It was a long, long, hard road. But you just get through. You just get on with it.”

Also a source of help, of course, was Smith, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002.

“The first thing I did was send her my wigs,” Smith shared. “She was so brave. She did have a very aggressive form.”

During the panel, all three women stressed the importance of staying on top of their health.

“Early detection is the key,” Smith insisted. “Every minute is important.”

“If you find a little something in either of your breasts, don’t ignore it,” Ladd said. “It might be nothing. But go quickly and find out for yourself.”

Jackson battled the disease in the late 1980s. “It’s really important to understand and embrace not being afraid of getting a mammogram,” she noted, per Variety. “Early detection is key. Find it early enough and you’ll probably be all right.”
